Fashion Friday - Girl's going blue

So I'm up to my ebay shopping habit again, and have purchased the nail colour for spring 2008: beautiful BLUE. And I'm so into yoga, really I am. I'm also thinking about picking up the OPI Russian Navy, after all what's a girl to do with only one shade of blue?

Because Chanel Blue Satin, the one that started it all on the spring runways, is sold out everywhere, and at up to $60 a bottle on eBay, I'm not going there.

Not that I wear polish a lot, I have it mostly for my toesies, because I'm constantly washing my hands and polish just does not last longer than a day on my fingers.

What's with the blue? Another last bastion, of cool this time, perhaps, or just trying too hard to be 16 again.

And speaking of Blue and of being a teen, here's a flash of cool from the past (quality isn't great, but I loved this song).

I loved Blue Peter, don't know if anyone outside of Canada remembers them, and I actually saw them in concert. I remember he was wearing a similar outfit. And don't you agree with me that Paul Humphreys just rocks the 80s guy dancing (toward end of video)? I don't think I've ever seen better!

I can, with all honesty, say I have never heard that song or of that group.

I love the blue. But I am just a tootsie girl too. I can't wait for summer so I can care again what my feet look like!

All the young girls over here are wearing blues and blacks on the weekends of course, since polish is not a part of the school uniform!! Me? I stick to reds and pinks!!
The video was sooooo '80's!! Had never heard of that group but they reminded me of the Talking Heads!!

I, too, finished your meme!! Thanks for thinking of me!!

My memories of the 80s and blue all involve eyeshadow & mascara!
I also have an eBay addiction, but I've yet to find a 12 step program!

I always get a mani/pedi every two weeks, yet, I have never been brave enough to try the blue polishes that are out there. I feel like I should leave those to the younger ones....I am 37, is that too old to try a new vibrant shade?

I know I've heard him... so he must have crossed the border. What a PERFECT 80s video, lol. Oooo! And I had Mary Quant blue nails for about two years in high school. Or maybe it was junior high?

I'm from inside Canada and still have no idea who Blue Peter is :) Blue is the new it colour...very strange indeed. Oh well, at least it's not black any more...never liked that trend much.
