Sympathy

The boy has been fighting some sort of bug this week; it's a tough time of year as we weren't sure whether his cough was just due to allergies, and his lethargy due to lack of sleep. We have a large tree that stands right in front of his bedroom window and apparently several robins wake him up with their unwelcome songs every morning at around 4:30 AM. The boy keeps asking when they'll go back to the forest where they belong.

Feverish for a second day in a row, we took him to the doctor. But it wasn't strep throat or anything that could be handled with a quick fix. Our pediatrician basically said to give him Advil for pain and plenty of rest. With that diagnosis, I sent the boy back to school on Thursday.

On Thursday afternoon, little G had her last swimming lesson of the session. She did very well, in fact, she received two badges and can skip the next level. She was so proud of her report and very excited about her badges.

As we drove to pick her brother up from school, I asked her,

"G, did you want to show your brother your swim badges?"

And she replied very matter-of-factly,

"Yeah, but he’s sick, he might throw up on them. No, I don't think so."

Sympathy.

To about being sick. I hope he is on the mend. As for Little G and her swimming congrats! Maybe a future Olympian in the pool? No pressure or anything on her ;)

Heh! She knows what's important in life!

Couldn't he have fifth disease? That's fever and possibly a rash...it's going around the school.

Hope he feels better this weekend. My boys are both struggling with allergies.

@christy - thanks.
@Heidi, I totally forgot about fifth disease!!! He's got pain in the legs too, which just developed yesterday, but no rash. Good thing I kept him in yesterday too.

I wouldn't want no bugger puking on my swimming badges either!

Funny.

Hehe...funny. I wouldn't show him either. For that very. same. reason. ;)

Hope your Boo feels better soon. Sick kiddos are no fun.

Oh, and, my girls bedroom get all the morning sunlight. I mean ALL. OF. IT. Causing them to wake up at the most ungodly hours of the morning. I'm totally buying blackout curtains for them, and sending you a bb gun to take out those birds.
