I wanna be Madonna

I've been feeling fairly rickety during my recent sessions at the gym. Sorry, Shakira, but even though the hips are not lying, they're actually creaking a bit.

Dammit!

I am still totally addicted to this Bodyjam hip hop aerobic phenomenon, despite my better judgement. Yes, I did do the 4 hour marathon a few weeks ago, and felt pretty good after it. I'm getting to know some of the kids better, my God they're even FB buddies with me now, as I live vicariously through their party albums and sexy and single vacay pics.

But still, I think I'm officially going through a middle-age crazy stage at the moment.

I don't know if it's just age, or that the air-conditioning hasn't kicked in for spring yet, but I am getting shorter of breath and more tired during the last few weeks . And it's bugging me because the playlist for the newest dance release sounds like this and I want to just RAWK it out:

I've also been reading a few too many beauty mags aimed at the younger set. Although I'd love to dig into some really good, current reads, the couple of minutes I have just before I pass out every night only allow concentration enough to absorb the hottest nail trends for Spring 2008. As a result, I've been picking up various creams and lotions, in an effort to start some sort of skincare regimen now that it's likely already too late. Anything that says "anti-aging" is $$ucking me in (the skeptical scientist in me is sadly starting to be overtaken by the pull of the cosmetics industry's over-the-top mass marketing. Due to my increasing "fear-of-getting-old"ness, I suppose). Sigh.

But if the fierce Material Girl can look and move like this at almost 50:

then the least I can do is keep pushing it. Robaxacet and ibuprofen will just have to stay really close friends.

Dude, is she really near 50?? I'm 30, and I wish I could look half as good :(

Can't wait to read how the new regimen works out! If you've found a miracle, I want to be the first to know ;)

I found a miracle cream. Boots No. 7 Restore and Renew - it's sold in CVS and on CVS.com

Amazing I tell you.

Ugh, as my mom always says, "If I had that kind of money, I would look like Madonna, too!"

My personal skin regime is Dove soap and original Oil of Olay. I like to KISS - keep it simple, stupid :)

Yes, even this many years later Madonna is still a hero of mine. If only I could get into the creams and stuff I might be able to look younger. I did well for a while, but I fear age is finally creeping up on me.

And tired and breathless?? That is how I would feel working out when I would get pregnant, no news there is there??

dahling you need no regimen as you look absolutely fabulous!

I'm the worst for trying to start a new regimen. But I do love cetaphil cleanser oh that stuff is just fantastic. And the Clean and Clear Morning Glow moisturizer. When I do those as a combo I get so many compliments on my skin.

and I am LOVIN that playlist! Please share any and all future playlists. So I can promptly load those songs on my MP3 player

Madonna is pretty amazing. You keep going and you will get to where you want to go. Don't let the young girl magazines get you down.

My back aches just watching that. Ouch. If anyone needs me, I'll be at the home watching "Murder She Wrote" reruns.

Just being at the gym is a good thing! But I agree - all the things I see there depress me. The skinny, toned, tanned bodies just make me want to waddle over and sit on them.

I was thinking the same thing as BeachMama! Maybe you need to pee on a stick....;-)

Kidding!

I am having the same problem but I am bound and determined not to let it lick me!

@everyone, thanks for posting some of your reco's for creams! I'll let you know if any of my new ones make any difference! And thanks for the compliments!
@beachmama and Kami - uh, no as we're done, timeline up and went, the old uterus would NOT be a good home anymore ... baby nephews and nieces are in the cards for me now!! But thanks for thinking that it could even be possible at my, um, advanced age!
@Jenny - you should see if any of the gyms around you run the Les Mills programs - they are awesome!

Yeah, but she has like two nannies per kid, a personal chef, a housekeeper, a gardener, a P.A., not to mention a personal trainer, right?

I'd say you are doing pretty well!

Chiropractor? If you're creaky and short of breath...might help.

Anyway, you're totally hot, I have no comment on the aging crap.
